I had hoped to be able to put pen to paper and put my feelings out there on the return of Cam Ward tonight, but nothing felt right. So I did what I do all too often, and decided to just put my feelings out there about Cam's return. Before you judge me for my feelings, take a listen, and then judge away and feel free to even goalie chant me. Maybe it will be cathartic for you too.
DISCLAIMER: Mike might have fallen off the rails and lost his darn mind. Seriously, there is bad language in this episode. Don't play it on your speakers at work or around your kids. We'll do better next time, but here's the good news. This venting therapy session basically led to the Canes win in Chicago and has the boys back on track. Thanks to our sponsors @BottleMixx and @Caniac_Realtor as always for sticking by us during these tough times.
We're thru 10 games and the Canes aren't bad. In fact, dare we say it, the Canes are not crappy. This week we discuss the great tilt vs. San Jose, how the boys continue to defy expectations, and more. We take your #Cheatmail questions and drink a couple of tasty brews for the Bottlemixx beer review. If you have a second, please like, subscribe, and leave a review. We really do appreciate it and reviews help new listeners find us. Let's go Canes.
Locusts, pestilence, cats and dogs living together... all caused by 2 losses by your Carolina Hurricanes. Good for us, Mike Maniscalco from Fox Sports Carolinas is here to talk us off the ledge. We talk the Avs, we talk beer, and we have some fun. This edition best enjoyed as you wait in traffic on your way to the game. Come by and say hi... you know where we will be!
A quick CheatMail edition of #CheatersNeverWin that got lost during the Hurricane Michael power outage. We do a quick recap of last nights big win in Minnesota before diving in and finishing w/ a BottleMixx beer review. Thanks again for listening, and we will be back w/ a regular full episode this week.
The Canes are back and they are FUN? Well, we're here to cover the week that was and have some fun as well. Matt Somma aka CanesProspects joins us to talk about the rookies and how some of the young guys are starting in Charlotte as well. We apologize for the missing #Cheatmail, but a power outage during the storm yesterday caused us to lose the last 15 mins of the podder. We'll record a new cheatmail segment and get that back up over the weekend. In the meantime, enjoy, thanks for listening, and go have some fun!
With one week left until opening night, we welcome Sean Leahy from Pro Hockey Talk onto the podcast to discuss the Canes preseason and what to expect this season. We preview next weeks tailgate, this weekend's live podcast, and fill the air with our take on Gritty and the Whale. We're super excited to be seeing so many of you over the next week. It's great to have the fam coming back together.
When you can get a guy who is as engaging and as statistically as smart as Rob Vollman, you don't pass up that chance. Rob is the mind behind the Hockey Abstract which is one of the preeminent sources of hockey stats you won't find in most places. Rob dives into if Caniacs should be more excited this year than previous, what are the odds the goaltending improves, and exactly who he wants to meet him when he lands in Raleigh for the playoffs. We talk a bit about our upcoming Slap Shot and live podcast at Rialto on 9/30, we tease a great community event in the 24 Cycling Challenge, and drink a delicious beer from Bottlemixx. As always, thanks for listening and we do appreciate your support.
Goal songs, social media excellence, and beer all make appearances in this week's edition of #CheatersNeverWin. Mike Forman, VP of Marketing for the Canes joins on the Dawn w/ Fathom Realty guest line to discuss all the changes the Canes have undergone this summer. Mike and Derek discuss the 328 choice for goal song, and we talk about a great new beer of the week available right now at BottleMixx from Allagash. Come for the goal song discussion, and stay for the Mr. Workrate love. Thanks as always for listening.
It's happened folks. Jeff Skinner has been traded and we need to get a few things off our chest. It's a quick edition, and we're here to share our reactions. Leave your comments below and chat w/ us over on Twitter @section_328
